About Lynx Sustainable Solutions

The people behind your project

Decades of combined solar expertise. A team that takes your project personally.

Driven by doing the right thing

Lynx Sustainable Solutions was founded in 2021 by Matthew Shaw and Nick Kennedy, two commercial solar specialists who have who have delivered large scale renewable energy projects since 2010. They formed a strong working partnership, built a word-class supply chain, and backed themselves to do solar PV properly.

In five years, we have delivered solar PV projects for some of the UK's most recognised property companies, institutional investors and major commercial brands. Our clients come back to us, and they refer us to others. That says more about how we work than anything we could write here.

We are based in Cheshire and work across the UK.

The people who make it happen

Matthew Shaw

Joint Managing Director

Matt has spent 16 years in renewable energy, working with some of the most recognised names in the built environment before co-founding Lynx Sustainable Solutions. His focus is commercial, making sure the investment case stacks up, the right solution gets specified, and the client relationship is built on straight talking from day one.

Nick Kennedy

Joint Managing Director

Nick co-founded Lynx Sustainable Solutions after 13 years in a global corporation delivering renewable energy projects from concept and design through to commissioning and operations and maintenance. That experience, combined with his early career as an electrician and electrical engineer, has given Nick a valuable perspective on the industry and every client project. He understands what good looks like at every stage, from the first technical assessment to the day the system goes live and beyond.

Mike Wilde

Operations Director

Mike runs the operational engine of Lynx Sustainable Solutions. He is on top of the processes, programmes, and quality standards that ensure every project is delivered as promised. With 20 years in the industry, very little surprises him on site. Which is exactly why clients sleep better knowing he's across it.

Tom Mayer

Solar PV Design Engineer

Tom is the person who looks at a commercial or industrial site and works out the best way to design a system that's compliant, accurate and performs at its best. He started his career installing solar before moving into design, and that background means he understands exactly what happens on site and how early decisions shape everything that follows.

Niall Russell

Project Manager

Niall brings a rare combination of military discipline from his service in the Royal Marines and construction knowledge to project management. With an HNC in Civil Engineering and PRINCE2 and APM qualifications, he keeps projects on track, stakeholders informed, and supply chains moving. He joined the team because he wanted to be part of something ambitious, and the growth of the PV sector meant the timing was right.

Adam Ayub

Project Manager

Adam started his career in solar as a labourer during his gap year and never really left. He worked in the industry whilst at university, taking on more responsibility and building hands-on experience across complex commercial sites, including hospitals and petrol stations. He joined Lynx Sustainable Solutions to work on larger-scale projects alongside a team he describes as technically skilled and efficiently run.
