Loake Shoes, Kettering

Loake Shoes Factory and Warehouse

Loake Shoes, the heritage British shoemaker renowned for quality and craftsmanship, wanted to reduce its environmental footprint by installing solar PV systems at its factory and warehouse in Kettering.

In line with its ESG policy—which focuses on reducing carbon emissions, improving energy efficiency, and supporting responsible sourcing—Loake partnered with Lynx Sustainable Solutions to deliver a bespoke solar and battery storage solution.

The installation includes a 73 kWp solar PV system at the factory, which was built in 1894 and a 20 kWp system at the warehouse, supported by battery storage capacities of 22 and 5.5 kWh, respectively. The systems are expected to generate 93 MWh of clean electricity annually, delivering projected energy cost savings of £18,000 annually and a carbon reduction of over 20 tonnes of CO₂ annually.

This project reflects Loake’s ongoing commitment to sustainability and demonstrates how manufacturers with strong heritage values can embrace clean energy to future-proof their operations.
