The Grid, Bracknell
The Grid, formerly known as Avis House, required a comprehensive transformation to meet modern sustainability standards and future-proof its energy performance. As part of this journey, Lynx Energy and Carbon Assessors and Lynx Sustainable Solutions collaborated to turn The Grid into a Net Zero Carbon-enabled building, helping to reduce operational costs, improve energy efficiency, and increase its long-term value.
Lynx Energy and Carbon Assessors conducted detailed energy modelling and sustainability assessments, identifying the key upgrades needed to elevate The Grid from an energy-efficient office. With the installation of a 41 kW photovoltaic system comprising 82 high-efficiency 500W solar panels, we ensured that The Grid could generate 35,468 kWh of renewable energy annually—offsetting emissions and reducing reliance on non-renewable sources.
This project has created a building that supports the long-term goals of its occupants, offering an energy-efficient workspace with reduced operational costs and a positive environmental impact.

What our clients say about us
“Working with Lynx Energy and Carbon Assessors and Lynx Sustainable Solutions, has delivered significant benefits to our client at The Grid, previously Avis House. The Lynx team’s expertise in carbon modelling and solar PV installation helped us reduce service charge liabilities for common areas and enhanced the building’s appeal to tenants. These improvements were essential in meeting our client’s ESG objectives.
As part of a broader refurbishment, our client, the landlord, aimed to create a more sustainable and attractive environment for tenants. Lynx played a crucial role in this by providing proactive and responsive service. Their attention to detail, particularly in addressing challenges like mounting solutions and assessing the roof’s integrity, ensured the project ran smoothly from start to finish.
Since the installation, the client has seen a marked improvement in tenant satisfaction and a strengthened position in attracting additional tenants. I highly recommend Lynx for their professionalism, expertise, and dedication to delivering impactful, high-quality solutions.”
Mithun Karsandas, Director, CS2 Limited
As our client’s asset, Avis House was being transformed into The Grid, the PV recommendations made by Lynx Energy and Carbon Assessors in their report made perfect sense, and the pitched area of the roof provided an ideal location for solar panels. The market is evolving, and our clients are increasingly prioritising sustainability and improving the performance of their buildings. This is why we advocate for solar PV, especially as it enhances the property’s appeal to potential tenants.
We chose Lynx based on a recommendation from CS2 and their expertise in delivering tailored end-to-end decarbonisation solutions. The team’s ability to adapt, stick to pricing and timelines, and minimise disruption during installation was impressive. Their flexibility stood out when an issue with the mounting system required design changes. The problem was solved rapidly, ensuring minimal disruption for our client and the building’s occupants.
Partnering with Lynx Energy and Carbon Assessors for carbon modelling and Lynx Sustainable Solutions for solar PV installation at one of our key assets has been an excellent experience. I wholeheartedly recommend them for their expertise, flexibility, and commitment to delivering tailored, sustainable energy solutions.
