Solar and Energy Consultancy

Clarity on your energy and decarbonisation strategy before you invest a penny.

Our independent consultancy gives asset managers and portfolio holders the clarity to build a credible energy and decarbonisation strategy and the confidence to invest in it.

The right advice before the right investment

The energy transition is reshaping commercial property. Decarbonisation targets, tightening regulations, and rising energy costs affect portfolio energy performance and, ultimately, asset value, tenant attraction, and long-term returns.

Solar is often a significant part of the answer, but it is a significant decision too. Feasibility, yield assessment, investment appraisal, funding model, roof condition, grid connection, and EPC impact are variables that matter and getting them wrong is expensive.

Our commercial solar consultancy cuts through that complexity. We assess your sites, model the carbon, analyse your options and give you everything you need to move forward with confidence or the honesty to tell you when solar isn't the right answer right now.

Every question answered before you commit to anything.

Every consultancy engagement starts with a detailed understanding of where you are now and where you need to get to. Some of what we offer includes:

Commercial energy audit and strategy

Understanding how and when energy is consumed is the starting point for any meaningful recommendation, so we analyse your current energy usage patterns, identify efficiency opportunities, and help you build a clear net-zero strategy.

EPC and MEES analysis

We assess your current energy performance ratings, model the impact of solar on those ratings and advise on whether the proposed solution is sufficient to meet current and incoming regulatory requirements.

Feasibility assessment

We assess whether solar is viable on a given site: structurally, electrically and commercially. That includes topographical analysis, roof condition, shading and the building's capacity to support a system.

Solar yield assessment

We provide accurate system generation forecasting for your energy strategy  based on orientation, roof space, shading analysis, and your on-site consumption patterns.

Financial appraisal

We build the business case for investment, including payback periods, ROI projections, CapEx vs OpEx options and funding structures such as Power Purchase Agreements. We also identify any available grants or incentives.

Grid connection and planning

We remove one of the most complex parts of the process from your plate through managing grid applications, navigating regulations, and securing any necessary planning permissions.

Procurement

Where required, we can write tender specifications, evaluate bids and act as your technical adviser throughout the procurement process, ensuring the right contractor is appointed on the right terms.

The output of our consultancy is shaped around what you need, whether that is a technical report, an investment case for your board, a funding recommendation or a full project specification ready to move into delivery.

The regulatory pressure is real, and the deadlines are getting closer

The minimum energy efficiency standards for commercial property are tightening. Assets that cannot meet EPC B by 2030 face a real risk of becoming unlettable, of losing value, or of requiring significant unplanned capital expenditure to bring them up to standard.

olar is one of the most effective ways to improve an asset's energy performance rating. But only if it is specified correctly, installed properly and maintained over the long term. A consultancy that starts with an honest assessment of what is possible is the difference between a project that works and one that falls short of the investment case.

The sooner you understand what your portfolio needs, the more options you have.

Built for anyone making a significant energy decision

Commercial
property developers

Building solar into a new development or major refurbishment, and need the technical and commercial input to get the specification right from the start.

What our clients say...

Mithun Karsandas
Director, CS2 Limited

"Working with Lynx Sustainable Solutions has delivered significant benefits to our client at The Grid, previously Avis House. The Lynx team’s expertise in carbon modelling and solar PV installation helped us reduce service charge liabilities for common areas and enhanced the building's appeal to tenants. These improvements were essential in meeting our client's ESG objectives. "

James Measures
Asset Manager, Measures and Company

"We chose Lynx Sustainable Solutions based on a recommendation from CS2 and their expertise in delivering tailored end-to-end decarbonisation solutions. The team's ability to adapt, stick to pricing and timelines, and minimise disruption during installation was impressive. Their flexibility stood out when an issue with the mounting system required design changes. The problem was solved rapidly, ensuring minimal disruption for our client and the building's occupants.

Max Pearson
Associate Director | Asset Management, PATRIZIA

"The benefits were immediate. Within weeks of installation, we secured a tenant attracted by the solar panels and efficiency of the building, which offers them energy at no additional cost. This rapid return on investment not only increased the property's value but also had a positive impact on our operations and overall strategy. This project is just the beginning for us, and we look forward to expanding our sustainability initiatives with Lynx Sustainable Solutions as a core supplier."
