Operations and Maintenance

Your solar is working. Let's keep it that way.

A solar PV system is designed to perform for 25 years. Whether it does depends on how it is looked after. Our commercial solar maintenance service keeps your system generating at its best and gives you the reporting to prove it.

The value is in the long-term performance

A commercial solar system represents a significant investment. The return on that investment, from reduced energy costs and carbon savings to EPC rating improvement, depends on the system continuing to generate at the level it was designed to.

Regular maintenance keeps your solar PV system performing the way it was designed to. Without it, soiling builds up on panels, connections work loose and hot spots develop undetected. These are not dramatic failures but they are costly ones, quietly reducing the return your investment was built to deliver.

Our operations and maintenance (O&M) service is designed to prevent that. We provide commercial solar panel maintenance across the UK to keep your system performing as specified, identify issues before they become costly, and provide the documentation and reporting you need to demonstrate performance to investors, tenants, and your own board.

A thorough programme of planned and reactive maintenance

The O&M service covers the full scope of what a commercial solar system requires to perform reliably over its lifetime.

Maintenance visits are scheduled to minimise disruption and avoid peak generation periods wherever possible.

Inverter and electrical systems

Inverters and electrical systems are the heart of your solar installation. Our annual inspection covers everything from AC distribution and mains connections to protection devices, checking for any signs of overheating, degradation or loose connections before they become a problem.

PV array inspection

Every year we carry out a thorough inspection of your panels, frames, fixings, cables and connectors. We are looking for mechanical damage, abnormal colouring and anything that could affect performance or safety. If a sample test flags a recurring issue, we extend the scope until we have a complete picture.

Thermographic testing

Hot spots are one of the most common causes of long-term performance loss and one of the hardest to spot without the right equipment. We use thermographic testing on modules and electrical connections to identify them early, when they are straightforward to address, rather than a source of permanent panel damage.

Array cleaning

Panel soiling is one of the most consistent causes of generation loss, and the type varies by site. Industrial dust, bird droppings, moss and atmospheric pollution all affect output differently and accumulate at different rates. We assess your site's specific conditions and tailor a cleaning programme accordingly, carried out on a scheduled or reactive basis as needed.

Warranty claims management

Dealing with equipment manufacturers when something goes wrong is time consuming and technical. We handle all warranty claims on your behalf, acting as your technical representative throughout, so you don't have to.

Reactive maintenance

When something needs attention between scheduled visits, we respond. Our reactive maintenance service covers corrective repairs, component replacement and any unplanned work required to restore the system to full operation.

Reporting

Within 30 days of each annual maintenance visit you receive a comprehensive report covering everything inspected, tested and actioned, giving you a clear record of your system's condition and performance.

For asset managers managing ESG reporting requirements or investor scrutiny, that documentation matters. You have the evidence to demonstrate that your solar assets are being properly maintained and are performing as the investment case assumed.

Already have solar installed?

Our O&M service is available for systems we have installed and, in some circumstances, for systems installed by others. If you have inherited a solar asset, changed asset managers, or need a more reliable maintenance partner, we are happy to discuss the support available.

We will conduct an initial assessment of the system before agreeing on a maintenance programme, to ensure we can stand behind the service we provide.

Let’s talk about your system.

Whether you have a system installed by another provider or us, we are happy to have a straightforward conversation about what an O&M programme would look like for your portfolio.
